• Dear Corporate Partner,

As you may be aware on January 27th, 2016 the Canadian Library Association (CLA) membership voted to dissolve the CLA predicated on a proposal for the creation of a new national association that will focus advocacy, research and policy.   That being said, we wish to assure the community that the CLA Forum will continue as planned on June 1-3, 2016 in Ottawa.

Our program planning to date includes a new format that will reflect the proposed direction for the new Canadian Federation of Library Associations and that will work within the confines of a new space which means our traditional program and layout of the trade show floor will change.

We have developed several ways in which our community can be involved in the Forum either as sponsors or in our vendor showcase. We have also made available time within the program for our corporate partners to present a session.

We anticipate that the Forum will draw approximately 300 participants this year. This is based on historical trends and feedback that we have received from the membership and community at large.

The reason to attend is based on a strong program that will focus on 10 topics that are of great significance within the library community and in the end will form an advisory document of recommendations that will be presented to the Canadian Federation of Library Associations.

Our corporate partners are part of the library voice; you and your organization are vital partners in the steps moving forward and your presence and feedback at the National Forum is necessary. The Forum will also provide your organization the opportunity to network with library representatives from across Canada in one place as well as those representing the Canadian Federation of Library Associations.

This is your opportunity to remain involved and we hope to see you there!
